Pittsburgh-based H.J. Heinz Company launched a line of flavored ketchup designed for adult taste buds. Ketchup KICK’RS, available in three varieties, Zesty Garlic, Hot & Spicy and Smokey Mesquite, were developed in response to research indicating adults’ need for flavor and variety in everyday foods, according to Brian Hansberry, VP of Marketing, Ketchup, Condiments & Sauces, Heinz North America.

We never would have bet on the success of green ketchup so we are not going to make any predictions here. The good news is that Heinz’ new items don’t appear to be a me-too which offers hope that consumers will buy these products in addition to the condiments that usually purchase.
