- SecureTouch-n-Pay(tm), an enhanced point-of-sale solution from Biometric
Access Corporation (BAC), Round Rock, Texas, incorporates customer identity
verification and electronic financial transaction processing at the point-of-sale
(POS). The solution was designed for integration with IBM’s SurePOS(tm) ACE
application SecureTouch-n-Pay and supports compatibility with other POS solutions
as well. Also on display are SecureTouch On-Time(tm) biometric time and attendance
solution, and SecureTouch PC(tm) biometric solution for computer/network access
control. - DemandView(TM) and DemandCast(TM), are available for license to retailers
— food, convenience, wholesale clubs, mass and drug — and their CPG suppliers
for the first time. The suite of modular software products, offered by Deerfield,
Ill.-based efficient market services, inc. (ems), was developed to help retailers
and their suppliers better understand, predict, and react to consumer demand
by improving merchandising and replenishment efficiencies, supply chain collaboration efforts, and brand and profit margin performance. - The Spaceman® Product Planner is a new tool for simplified space management that helps clients expedite the process of determining what items to carry in a particular product category and then uses the results to update corresponding planograms. ACNielsen U.S., an operating unit of ACNielsen, a VNU company, expects to launch the product in April 2002. Used in conjunction with Spaceman Application Builder, ACNielsen’s customizable merchandising application that utilizes industry-standard Microsoft Visual Basic, the new tool enables users to electronically pull in multiple data sources for assortment analysis.
