Applebee’s has launched its annual fundraiser in partnership with Alex’s Lemonade Stand Foundation (ALSF) to raise funds for pediatric cancer research and family support programs. From August 7 to September 17, Applebee’s restaurants across the country will transform into “Lemonade Stands” to invite guests and neighbors to join the fight against childhood cancer. Since the partnership began in 2005, Applebee’s has raised over $14.5 million for ALSF, funding 290,000 hours of pediatric cancer research.
Guests can support the cause by adding $1 and $5 digital lemons to their online orders, clicking the “Donate Now” button when purchasing Applebee’s Gift Cards, or enjoying Lemonades or Fruit Flavored Lemonades on August 20 (National Lemonade Day), where 25 cents from each lemonade sold will be donated to ALSF.
Liz Scott, Alex’s mom and co-executive director of ALSF, expressed gratitude for Applebee’s unwavering commitment as one of their most dedicated partners since 2005. ALSF continues to fund vital pediatric cancer research, with over $250 million raised and over 1,000 research projects supported.
For over 40 years, Applebee’s has been dedicated to making a positive impact in the communities they serve through various charitable efforts and events. In addition to their local initiatives, they have also been serving millions of free meals to veterans and active military on Veterans Day for the past 15 years. Together, Applebee’s and its franchisees annually donate millions of dollars and thousands of volunteer hours to support community causes through their “Doin’ Good in the Neighborhood” program.
