Elizabeth Campbell[edit]

Hi, I couldn't find a definitive publishing notice on the title page, and also not in the Category:Sicily In the Year 1825 by Elizabeth Campbell. The book doesn't even seem to have ever been printed - so was it really created in the UK, or possibly in Italy? The year is obvious, but I'm in doubt whether this is a Category:1825 books from Italy or Category:1825 books from the United Kingdom. Did Campbell return from Italy in that year to bind the album in England, or did she stay in Europe? --Enyavar (talk) 19:54, 24 May 2023 (UTC)Reply[reply]

Who knows. UK seemed reasonable give her nationality, language used, and the fact that the book ended up in London. But Category:1825 books is available if you prefer. Andy Mabbett (Pigsonthewing); Talk to Andy; Andy's edits 20:10, 24 May 2023 (UTC)Reply[reply]

hi[edit]

Is this an airport in Birmingham?

hello can you tell me what I did wrong please, I'm new Bjc8996 (talk) 16:27, 13 June 2023 (UTC)Reply[reply]

[moved from my talk page on en:Wikipedia]
@Bjc8996: Gladly, but please bear in mind this is Not your fault!
You have been using an app which asks you to "tag" images. But the app then adds what you suggest as tags using a statement called "depicts", which tells people and computers that the image "depicts" the subject of the tag. Obviously, as its name implies, "depicts" should only be used for things seen in the image, and as precisely as possible.
So, for instance, you added data to the image above, asserting that it depicts "airport", and "Birmingham".
Clearly, that's a nonsense, and unhelpful to the project. The app misleads people into doing it.
You can see discussion of this matter here, and in the 2020 discussions I linked to from the comment I posted there earlier today.
Thank you for your contributions, but I suggest you stop tagging and find another way to help. Or only tag what you can actually see in the image, as precisely as possible (so tag a picture of The Eiffel Tower as "Eiffel Tower" not "tower" and certainly not "Paris" or "France").
Do ask here if I can help you again, Andy Mabbett (Pigsonthewing); Talk to Andy; Andy's edits 19:00, 13 June 2023 (UTC)Reply[reply]
