U.S. Senator Chuck Schumer has asked the Food and Drug Administration (FDA) to investigate Logan Paul’s PRIME energy drink, citing concerns about its high caffeine content and whether it is safe for young people. The drink contains 200 milligrams of caffeine per 12 ounces, which is nearly twice the amount of caffeine in a can of Red Bull. Schumer noted that the marketing and packaging of the energy drink are too similar to the non-caffeinated hydration drink PRIME also sells, so parents may not realize that their kids are drinking the caffeinated beverage.
