LASER LINKS

PPDS, the exclusive global provider of Philips professional displays has teamed up with Laser Clinics – the largest cosmetic clinic in the world – in expanding its communications and driving footfall inside its busy Brent Cross store, with the installation of Philips Q-Line 4K UHD digital signage displays.

With over 4.2 million treatments a year carried out in over 200 locations globally, including 46 in the UK alone, Laser Clinics is a rapidly expanding global cosmetics brand, born in Australia. The company offers a range of tailored, walk-in beauty treatments, including for skin, hair removal, and body sculpting. Employing more than 2,500 staff, treatments are performed with medical-grade equipment and advanced technology, performed by doctors, advanced nurse practitioners, and trained therapists.

With an annual footfall of 12.5 million, Brent Cross remains one of London’s most popular shopping destinations and, home to over 120 stores, competition is high. Store stand-out remains crucial. Laser Clinics turned to AV integration specialist, TVC Technology Solutions, together with PPDS, to enhance customer engagement opportunities, with an unmissable digital signage solution that is guaranteed to gain attention from passers-by.

Speaking about the installation, Andy Greaves, TVC’s Divisional Sales Director, said: “Brent Cross was the first indoor shopping centre built in the UK and remains one of London’s most popular shopping destinations, so it’s vital for the retailers within to seize every opportunity.

“Building on our tried and tested formula for Laser Clinics, with our installations in almost all of their UK sites, we integrated two 65” Ultra HD Philips Q-Line displays within Laser Clinics’ large, glass storefront. Each of these is used to deliver unmissable content and to provide advanced marketing capabilities, delivered with picture-perfect quality.”

Creative control
The Philips Q-Line displays provide extensive content creation and control capabilities for Laser Clinics, with AV/IT managers able to view and manage all content, whether for a single store or across its entire network.

All displays are optimised for native Android apps and web apps can be installed directly onto the display, as well. Automatic updates ensure apps stay up-to-date and can be set to perform during specific hours – such as when the shopping centre is closed – helping to ensure displays maintain optimum performance at all times.

For added security, the Philips Q-Line displays feature PPDS’ ‘FailOver’ technology, allowing the displays to automatically switch between primary and secondary inputs in the event of outage, providing each store the reassurance that content will keep playing even if the primary source goes down.

Lee Walsh, Head of Clinic Openings at Laser Clinics, commented: “In a business that is growing quickly, the team have always been flexible and supportive, particularly when we have had to change plans at the last minute. Being able to deal with individuals rather than a sales desk meant we could always tailor the service to meet our needs. We have had a great service!”

Tracy Barrow, Key Account Manager – UK at PPDS, added: “Built on an Android platform, our Philips Q-Line digital displays are perfect for use in this bustling environment, bringing the team the ability to easily manage content to suit specific time periods and promotions, engaging customers with laser-sharp picture quality. We are delighted to have supported Laser Clinics with this important project, working together with TVC to bring their vision for Laser Clinics to life.”
