IRI’s Early View 2019: Consumer Food and Beverage Spending Trends
Younger millennial spending on food and beverages is clearly outpacing older baby boomers and retirees.
So far in 2019, consumer confidence has been a mixed bag, influenced in turn by a strong labor market and trade issues among other things.
Young millennials, based on the latest IRI Consumer Connect™ survey findings, are spending more freely on food than older generations, who are resorting to money-saving tactics. The report also revealed strong growth for sustainably marketed products and plant-based foods.
