Tyson Foods, the largest U.S. meat producer, has announced the closure of four chicken plants located in Arkansas, Indiana, and Missouri. The decision, which will cut almost 3,000 jobs, comes as Tyson adjusts to declining demand for some products after profiting during the COVID-19 pandemic. The closures are expected to impact small communities that have relied on these plants for employment and economic activity for over 50 years.
